Is All That Glitters Gold? My Experience With L'Oreal Gold Mirage

Send me some gold highlighters to use every single time and am Gucci, if you replace that with gold eyeshadow and lip gloss, I don't think I’m a true believer. I prefer gold to be an accent makeup shade on my skin than a focal point. (Topic Is All That Glitters Really Gold)

and have been careful about covering my eyelids or lips with a glittering gold shadow or lippy. But like any beauty blogger, I continue to be on a hunt for a product or products that will impress me. But when L’Oréal Paris released its Gold Mirage line at Ulta Beauty, I knew I had to check it out. Their limited-edition collection has a variety of all-new eyeshadow and lip glosses with it and the cult-favorite Bronze It and Lumi Glotion. Disclaimer the packages are lovely.  Is all that glitters really gold? I was anxious to find out. Continue reading for my review on the entire package.

My experience with L'Oreal Paris Gold Mirage (Is All That Glitters Really Gold)

I first wore the Gold Mirage Shimmering Eyeshadow, which has four colors; Pink Quartz, a gold-flecked pink, Sandstone, a beige gold, Opalite, a bright silvery gold, and Tiger’s Eye, a rich, Midas gold. Without any further thought, I decided to try the rest. The Tiger’s Eye copper undertone was a perfect match for my skin complexion. To mix match I choose the Gold Mirage Crushed Quartz Lip Gloss and wow it was just fantastic, I knew it will be before trying it.

The shimmering lip thing which comes in Copper Quartz, a penny color hue, Gold Quartz, a platinum gold, Bronze Quartz, a browny-gold, and Pink Quartz, the bright strawberry-gold were just great, you could imagine how happy I was like you had given candy to a baby. I went for the Gold Quartz because I wanted to compare the golden eyeshadow with a less heavy shade on my lips.

The Gold Eyeshadow (Is All That Glitters Gold? )

Like every girl, I like to apply eyeshadows with my fingers so I did. The eyeshadows are soft and creamy to feel, it does not flake away like most gold glitter shadows out there. The formula is ok, its easy light and you can build it up.  It is not too rich, now there are people out there that like much pigmentation and I am one of those people but for people that don't like heavy makeup this will be good for you. The product is not to rich and this is gold for certain people.

I wore it straight away and immediately felt that my eyes looked wider and bigger, and it was a good base for me to apply my black gel liner on top. I was equally surprised by its luminosity and I was ok with the fact that it was too glittery or heavy. Normally I will opt for a pigmented product but this was classy. The ingredients include a sweet sparkle that blends with the light beautifully.

The  L'Oreal Gold Lip Gloss

The lippy was nice because it was creamy and non-sticky at the same time. I had to apply it twice on my lips for two coats. When I rubbed them together I noticed my pout did not stick and did not feel weird like most glitter gloss feel. The scent is soft and sweet not too much. I like how it forms a total clear shine with those little glitter gold flecks sprinkled all over.

I tested it to see how long the lip gloss and eyeshadow will last, and I’m glad to say that it was longer than most makeup would stay, it lasted for quite a while. The eyeshadow did not come off an inch, I wore it out when the sun was out till the evening. Of course, I applied the gloss frequently cause glosses don't stay long especially when you have to eat.  But my lips were hydrated all they long because of the formula.
