How To Make Akara ( Also Known As Bean Cake)

Peel your beans, wash your beans; you sure don't want to eat dirty beans, you then soak your beans for 2-3 hours, so that it will be soft for you to blend. Slice your onions and peppers (don't add a lot of peppers and onions, I advice you use one onion and two peppers normally chili peppers) or you can use according to your discretion. You can also use other types of peppers if you prefer them to chili.

Peel your onions first, before slicing it. pour your beans and sliced ingredients into the blender, add a little water and blend. Pour into a bowl, add a pinch of salt and one Maggie cube, the maggie is optional. Pour oil into the frying pan and heat; note Akara takes a lot of oil, so you can also use an oven to avoid usage of oil. Use a spoon that has a dip base to scoop and pour into the frying pan, after 1 or 2 minutes turn over to the other side so it can be cooked too.

Serve on a towel before serving on a plate, in order for you to drain the oil. This dish is also known as a bean cake.
